Upgrade your BMW E9X or E8X chassis with our bolt-on driveshaft safety loops, designed to meet NHRA 1/4-mile safety requirements while maintaining a clean, factory-like installation.
These loops are available in front and rear versions, each engineered to fit precisely and clear factory components without modification:
-
Front Safety Loop
-
Mounts to the underside of the standard GM transmission mount.
-
Installs below the mounting point, not between the transmission and mount, ensuring the factory transmission height and driveline geometry remain unchanged.
-
Can also be used in any application with a GM transmission mount, not limited to BMW chassis.
-
-
Rear Safety Loop
-
Bolts directly to the front differential mounting points on the stock BMW subframe.
-
Provides protection within the NHRA-required 6 inches of the driveshaft U-joint.
-
Both loops feature a removable bolt-in surround for easy installation and servicing without dropping the driveshaft.
Key Features:
-
NHRA Compliant: 1/4" thick x 2" wide steel construction meets NHRA driveshaft loop requirements.
-
Chassis-Specific Fitment: Designed specifically for BMW E9X (E90, E91, E92, E93) and E8X (128i, 135i, etc.) chassis.
-
Universal Front Option: Front loop also fits any GM transmission mount setup.
-
Easy Install:
-
Includes hardware to attach the loop to the bracket (as shown).
-
Uses factory transmission and differential mounting bolts, no custom drilling required.
-
-
Service Friendly: Removable bolt-in loop surround allows driveshaft removal without disturbing the main bracket.
-
Durable Finish: Black powder-coated for corrosion resistance and a clean look.
-
Track Proven: Locates within NHRA’s 6-inch requirement of the driveshaft U-joints, front and rear.
Compatibility:
-
BMW E9X chassis: E90, E91, E92, E93 (325i, 328i, 330i, 335i, M3 conversions, etc.)
-
BMW E8X chassis: 128i, 135i
-
Fits with LS / LT GM swap setups and other driveline conversions using a GM transmission mount.
Why You Need This:
A driveshaft failure can cause catastrophic damage to your car and pose serious safety risks. These loops provide peace of mind by keeping the driveshaft contained in the event of a break. Perfect for street/strip cars, high-horsepower builds, and NHRA-certified drag racing.
